LOVE IS...

Love Is… Few years ago, I think I would have given my right foot out just to argue that love indeed is a feeling. How could anything as great as Love be a choice? By the time I had that one lecture where the lecturer someway, somehow said it again - Love is a choice and not a feeling - I had heard enough of the statement to motivate me to learn more about what it meant for love to be a choice. *         *         *         *         *         *         *         *         *         *         *         * There are very many definitions of what the word could mean: -          A strong feeling of affection and sexual attraction for someone; -          A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend; -          A feeling of strong or constant regard for and dedication to someone. All these of course could describe what love is but could they really be said to define what Love is? What happens when that strong feeling of affec

TRUST

Trust The word in itself is a very powerful one. It takes away the whole "dependent" from "I" meaning one no longer becomes that "independent" man or woman we crave to be, but rather we "depend" on others and "trust" them to either protect us, defend us, care for us, love us or even die for us. No one is saying don't trust. But rather trust the right person. Notice how there's a "u" in the word rather than a "me"? That simply means that we are not meant to handle it all by ourselves. We are meant to let go and allow someone more reliable than we are to do the difficult tasks. Trust goes beyond just saying you trust someone, it means believing and having faith in someone enough to leave your entire burden at their feet and letting them make things straight. It's the same way when it comes to our relationship with God. God is supreme. His love for us amounts to the number of billion stars we have i

See You As God Sees

Image
Just like the song So Close by Mary Mary, there are many times when we see ourselves as not worthy of God’s love. We see ourselves as failures and like we can never get in touch with what God has planned for us. This is only carnal thinking. God is an ever merciful God, one who draws us back no matter how many times we disrespect and take advantage of His love and mercy. In His word, God has given us very many clues as to how He sees us. Although we look down on ourselves, it is only the way God sees us that matters therefore it is right for us to ask God to open our eyes so we can see us the way He sees us. If we want to be sure of how God sees us, let’s take a look of the beautiful and wonderful names God addresses us with in His word. When going through these names, let’s also try to personalize them by saying “I am…” He sees me as: ·          His Beloved ·          His Special Possession ·          A Holy Nation ·          The Light of the World (Matt. 5:13) ·
